He was subsequently swallowed by a whale. Whilst inside itsby Pieter belly, he took the time to reflect on his life and past actions and toLastman.look deep inside himself to see where he had gone wrong or what he could have done better. He understood that God would never have abandoned him. He should have trusted Him. He repented and asked for forgiveness. We also repent on Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is our me time time emotionally and spiritually. It is when we look at our reflection in the mirror. We ask for forgiveness and we promise to improve who we are, not just by our words but also through our actions and deeds. Yom Kippur grounds us as Jews, gives us direction by shining a light on our earthly and spiritual path. The book of Jonah reminds us of our permanent connection to God because God is with us always.17'
