Santa Montefiore's books have been translated into twenty languages and over two million copies have been sold throughout Europe and America. The Affair is her tenth novel. Santa was born in England in 1970 to an Anglo-Argentine mother, and read Spanish and Italian at Exeter University. After a year teaching English on an Argentine estancia, she spent much of the nineties in Buenos Aires. She now lives in London with her husband, the award-winning writer and historian Simon Sebag Montefiore, and their two children, Lily and Sasha.
