LOOKING FOR LOVE
Monday 7 December at 7.45pm
After an absence of three years by popular demand we are bringing you the films from The Ma'aleh Film School of Jerusalem, Israel - Jewish life in Israel through the medium of film
"And Thou Shalt Love" - This film is about a boy in yeshiva who realizes he is gay in an environment totally unwilling, or unable to accept him. The film raises some important questions (but no answers) about how the Jewish community relates to its gay young people, if at all.
"Cheftzi On Air" - This is a romantic bitter sweet comedy about a woman with an all night radio show for singles who are lonely. She dishes out firm advice to everybody but in her personal life, her advice fails her completely. A lovely and thought provoking film about the ever present question of our singles and the emotional burdens they carry.
